Christmas in Spain

Christmas in Spain

Christmas is a very special time of the year. The streets are full of lights and the people walk aroung carrying their shopping bags.Christmas is an important family celebration in Spain. There are several special dates. The first one:Christmas Eve(24th of december) the night in which the whole family gathers around the table to have dinner and celebrate that Jesus was born.Nowadays some people in Spain give each other their presents on Christmas Day(25th of december) because Santa Claus leaves the presents on that night.

The next important date is the 5th of January when the "three wise men" come with gifts for spanish children. In many Spanish towns and villages the City Councils organise some interesting parades in order to impress the kids. These are expecting the presents from the "three wise men" and they find them when they wake up the next morning,on the 6th of January.
