Bollywood, is the informal term often used for Mumbai-based Hindi-language film industry in India. Bollywood is often incorrectly used to refer to the whole of Indian cinema; it is only a part of the Indian film industry.

Bollywood is one of the largest film producers in the world.

The name is a mix of Bombay and Hollywood, the center of the North American film industry.

Indian Cinema, The Indian film industry is the largest in the world in terms of ticket sales and number of films produced annually (877 feature films and 1177 short films were released in the year 2003).

Some important Indian films: Monsoon Wedding, Gandhi, Gandhi, English August, Bollywood Calling, Hyderabad Blues, Mr. and Mrs. Iyer, Salaam Bombay, A Train to Pakistan, A Passage to India.

Mira Nair, born October 15, 1957 at Rourkela, India. She is an India-born, New-York based fim director. She was educated at Delhi university and Harvard University. Her debut feature film, Salaam Bombay!, won the Golden Camera award at the Cannes Film Festival and was also nominated for an Oscar.

She won many awards by "Mississippi Masala", and "Salaam Bombay" and "My Own country"."Monsoon Wedding" won a golden globe nomination for Best Foreing Language film.

Easter 08

This easter has been a little bit more boring than Fallas. My Grandmother and my cousins came from Madrid to stay in my house for one week, so I couldn't stay out as much as I stayed in Fallas because I had to spend time with my family.

I also went out with my friends. The 21st of March was my birthday! I'm 14 years old already. We made a special lunch with all my family in a restaurant and on the afternoon I went out with my friends.

I had a lot of fun that day and I received lots of presents. Another special day was the 25th of March it was my dad's birthday and also Paula's (from ESO3) birthday.

So on the afternoon we made a surprise party for her and we had lots of fun.

The only boring thing is that the school was soon and I had to do my homework, so I spend part of my time doing homework.

Fallas 08

This vacations have been very good. I went out with my friends almost every days because my mum was on holiday and my father let me stay out late. I slept in Valeria's house several times and I had lots of fun.

I didn't throw lots of "petardos because I don't like them very much.

The most interesting day was on 19 of march, the last day of fallas.

I went with Valeria to the La Canyada's town and there we met with other people. We saw "la cremà" and then I slept in Valeria's house.

I've had lots of fun this year in Fallas but I hope that next year would be better.
